In-Person (Sept. 2021) - Introduction to Sewing - Ages 12 yrs and above

TIME: 2:00pm - 4:00pm ET

DURATION: 100 minutes - 120 minutes

AGE GROUP: 12 yrs and above

Difficulty: Easy - No prior sewing experience is required. 

***US BASED ONLY***This course is appropriate for students aged 12 yrs and above*** 

This course will teach basic skills for operating a sewing machine. It is the perfect place to start if you want to learn to sew.

This is a 2-hours long class. During the first 15 - 20-minutes we will do introductions, review the lesson and discuss proper posture.

The last 15-minutes will be spent answering questions or assisting students who might have fallen behind.

This class is for students who are just beginning to learn to sew with a sewing machine.

At the conclusion of the class, each student should be able to:

• Identify basic sewing machine parts and what they do
• Be able to do a simple straight stitch and other basic stitches
• Complete your first sewn project

Because of the limited duration of the class, we limit it to 7-students per session to allow for a more personalized experience. 

Cost is $70 per student (includes the use of our sewing machine). If you choose to bring and use your own sewing machine, we will refund you $20 the day of the class. 

You can register up to the morning of the class to allow time for proper planning and availability of machines.

Your sewing kit includes: 

• A pair of scissors
• A measurement tape
• The class printouts for practice
• 4 x 4 Piece of cotton fabric for practice
• Any other materials you will need for the class

REMINDER:

*** If you bring your sewing machine to the class, it must be a full size sewing machine. Please plan to also have your manual handy for class ***

No refunds will be issued after class has begun. If you are not able to make the class, please contact us prior to the start of the class and we will issue you credit towards a future "Introduction to Sewing" class.
