Fun summer activity - Hand Embroidery

If you're like me, you are already creating a list of the things you'd like to try this summer. There is something about the warmer weather that just puts me in the mood to try out new things. This year, I decided to try to grow some items in our garden that I haven't grown in the past.

Another item on that list is doing more embroidery work. If you've been following me, you know that I LOVE to sew (hand and machine), embroider (hand and machine), crotchet and knit. All while listening to a good audiobook. It is really the little things for me :-).

I didn't want to spend too much on intricate hand embroidery patterns so I went looking online and here is what I stumbled on! Did you know that DMC offers MANY FREE embroidery patterns? And this is a perfect time to try some of them. I have been thinking about getting into punch needle sewing and I already purchased a kit! I can't wait to start that.

Not sure of where to start? Pick up a pre-packaged embroidery kit from my store and take a quick sewing class with me. I'll get you started on the basics and as they say, the rest is history.

In the mean time, here are some free patterns that are sure to please if you do decide you want to start hand embroidering.

Happy Sewing!
